Less Traveled

The Phoenix Foundation and Site 12 Productions launches a fundraiser to film “Less Traveled”, a breathtaking journey of mental health discovery and inspiration to carve out the fundamentals for a new approach to emotional well being support in Calgary.

CALGARY, Alberta. (June 8th 2024) – The Phoenix Foundation and Site 12 Productions is thrilled to extend a heartfelt invitation to you and the vibrant community of Calgary to join us for an event of profound significance, "Less Traveled." This gathering represents not only a personal journey for us but also a collective endeavor towards healing, learning, self-forgiveness, and hope.

"Less Traveled" is not just an event; it's a beacon of light in the realm of PTSD and Mental Health challenges, particularly within the First Responder, Veteran, and Indigenous communities. As we embark on this journey, traversing from Skagway, Alaska, to Oak Bay, BC, via Personal watercraft, we will pause at remote indigenous communities. There, we aim to glean wisdom from diverse cultures on how they navigate and heal from traumas and tragedies.

The fundraiser, scheduled for 7 pm June 8th, 2024, at Partners Bar & Grill, (7740 18th Street, Calgary) is a testament to the resilience and strength inherent in community support and understanding. Our primary goal is to raise awareness about Mental Health and PTSD issues while combating the stigma associated with discussing these challenges openly. From this production, we envision forging a community of solidarity, one that will serve as the cornerstone of our dream to establish a clinic where the lessons we've learned can be imparted on others in need.

As former firefighters, first responders and Veterans, Site 12 Productions set out to document a comprehensive guide to the learnings, teachings and shared experiences of trauma. Our mission is to bring hope, understanding and help to those looking for support that may otherwise not be able to access it. Our goal is to complete the documentary and use the knowledge gained to Open the Phoenix Foundation, for supporting those who struggle with traumatic emotional responses. The Phoenix Foundation embodies our commitment to offering stability and purpose to individuals grappling with Mental Health and PTSD issues. Together, we aspire to cultivate a space where healing is not just a possibility but a tangible reality.

We warmly invite you to join us in this noble cause, to stand with us in solidarity, and to contribute your presence towards fostering a culture of understanding and support. Your participation will not only enrich the event but will also signify a shared commitment towards creating a brighter, more compassionate future.
